The truth about Fat Burners

More and more products are being released into the Health and Fitness Marketplace which claim to help you lose body fat, quickly. But what exactly are these ‘quick fix’ Fat Burners, and how do they work?

Fat Burners are designed to increase your metabolism and your energy levels, thus helping you to burn fat quicker than you would normally.

Many Fat Burners do not claim to work as a ‘Magic Pill’ that burns fat overnight, but instead promoted as supplements to work alongside your meal plans and workout regime. It’s important not to forget though, that nothing can replace a balanced diet and exercise!

Fat Burners come in different forms, whether they be in tablet or powder form, and the majority are designed to stimulate hormonal reactions in the body. These reactions begin to break down fat and use it within the body as fuel.

Did you know?

One of the most common ingredients in Fat Burners is Caffeine!

This is because Caffeine increases the hormone Epinephrine, and this can break down fatty acids which are released into the bloodstream.

Other common ingredients in Fat Burners include L-Carnitine Tartrate, Garcinia Cambogia Extract, Green Coffee Bean Extract, and Green Tea Extract.

Fat Burners blend a range of different ingredients together with an additional aim to give you quick boosts of energy and suppress your appetite. They can regularly combine ingredients with excess B-vitamins and sugars.

Do Fat Burners work and should I be using them?

The bottom line is, Fat Burners do not replace a healthy lifestyle. They are designed to be used alongside a balanced diet and regular exercise regime, and can potentially have negative side effects on our bodies.

I personally do not use Fat Burners, and would not recommend Artificial Fat Burners to anyone as I don’t believe they are necessary for effective weight loss – Nothing beats good old will-power and determination! 😆💪

Can I promote fat burning naturally?

The good news is, yes! You can by-pass artificial Fat Burners and opt for natural alternatives such as those listed below. These natural Fat Burners can be incorporated into a balanced diet by including them as flavourings in healthy food recipes.

1. Ginger

Ginger has many health benefits which include aiding digestion and increasing the body’s internal temperature. (This causes us to use more energy).

2. Cinnamon

Similar to Ginger, Cinnamon also has thermogenic properties. Not to mention, it’s Christmassy taste is perfect for this time of year! 🎄

3. Turmeric

Turmeric can suppress blood vessels which are needed to form fat tissue, and with a great taste, Turmeric is perfect to spice up a healthy chicken curry!

4. Garlic

Not solely used for fighting off Vampires, Garlic is another brilliant natural Fat Burner which, just like Ginger and Cinnamon, helps us burn fat using thermogenic properties.

You’ve probably heard before that ‘anything worth having never comes easy’ and it’s good to remember that weight loss is a journey. However, as always, the decision to use Fat Burners is completely up to you.
